Amazon operates within, and delivers to Mexico, but the options are more limited and you may have to pay importation fees. If you can, have these products shipped to your US home or to a campground in the US where you’ll be staying for a week.
The following are all items that I own, use, and recommend. There are plenty of items that I have purchased over the years that are not listed here because I don’t recommend them. I hope you’ll learn from my mistakes and good buys when purchasing your essentials.
CLEANING
Shark VACMOP: I use this small, cordless, all-in-one mop and vacuum 2-3 times per day to keep my travel trailer clean. It comes with VACMOP pads and cleaning solution. You can make your own cleaning solution, but the dual function VACMOP pads must be ordered or purchased at a Walmart in the US. Here is best price that I have found for VACMOP replacements pads.
Camco RV Water Filter: Out of an abundance of caution, I only drink bottled water in Mexico and use this to filter potable water for sinks and showers. If you’ve ever had Montezuma’s Revenge and stomach illnesses due to questionable water, you know why.
Camco RhinoFLEX 20-Ft RV Sewer Hose Kit and Camco Sidewinder 20-Ft RV Sewer Hose Support: These are must-haves to keep gray and black water moving along.
3-in-1 Leather Cleaner Wipes: I wear white tennis shoes and these wipes are great: cleaner, conditioner, polisher all-in-one. When storage space is limited, don’t buy three different products when you can buy one.
DUDE Wipes Flushable Wipes: My septic tank has never had a problem with DUDE wipes. I can’t speak for your septic system, but I prefer these over toilet paper.
Scott ComfortPlus Septic-Safe Toilet Paper: We’ve established that I use DUDE wipes, but I keep toiler paper on-hand for guests. Finding septic-safe toilet paper that is also soft and durable isn’t easy. This Scott product meets the criteria.
Wall-mount RV Toilet Bowl Brush and Holder: Buy a wall mount toilet bowl brush and holder like this one to avoid creating a mess that isn’t fun to clean-up.
Porta-Pak Black Holding Tank Deodorizer: These tablets prevent my black tank from stinking up my trailer.
Grey Water Tank Deodorizer & Freshener: These drop-in tablets work like a gem to keep my pipes clean and prevent unwanted spells in the trailer.
Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash Dispenser: I have these self-adhesive, one-, two-, or three-tank storage sets mounted in my shower and next to each of my sinks to easily store cleaning solutions and keep big and unnecessary bottles off of limited shelf space.
CONVENIENCE & COMFORT
Bamboo Bed Sheet Set: In the warm-to-hot climate of Mexico, you need soft and cooling sheets. Of all the bed sheets that I have tried, I like Pure Bamboo the best.
Smart Outlet Extender with Night Light: I like this outlet expender because it has both USB ports, plenty of additional outlets, and a convenient nightlight.
Zenna Home Curved Tension Shower Curtain Rod: There are some expensive options out there for expandable shower rods. This is the best one that I have found. I’m a big guy and it gives me significantly more room in my small rectangular shower.
Self-Adhesive Wall Mount Key Holder with Tray: Owning a RV means having a lot of keys. This small key holder with tray is mounted right next to my door, so I can easily grab what I need. My wallet and phone conveniently fit on the tray, too.
Self-Adhesive Shaving Mirror for Shower: A shower mirror is a must-have.
Wall-mount Tablet Holder: I don’t actually keep a TV in my bedroom. Instead, this tablet and phone holder is mounted onto the cabinet on the side of my bed for me to watch TV and scroll social media at night.
Starlink Pole Mount: Starlink is still the best satellite Internet provider available. This pole mount helps to secure my dish on the back of my travel trailer.
STORAGE
Self-Adhesive Hooks: I have 20+ of these stuck the walls of my travel trailer to hang dish towels, bathroom towels, hand towels, laundry bags, kitchen pots and pans and lids, Christmas stockings, and the list goes on. I like these because they are sturdy and stylish.
2 Pack Hat Racks for Baseball Caps: Convenient, self-adhesive wall mount hat racks.
Under Cabinet Utensil Hanger: Storage is a limitation in RV living. These utensil hangers are very convenient. I keep them over either side of the kitchen sink so I can wash and hang utensils immediately, and any water drips right back into the sink.
Cabinet Dish Rack: I keep this under my sink to store plates and bowls, and create more storage space for other items.
Faucet Drip Tray Mat: I use this around my kitchen sink to keep water from spilling everywhere when I wash dishes, and it’s enough space to store my sponge, rag, and steel brush.
Spice Rack Organizer: I have these self-adhesive spice rack organizers mounted to the inside of my kitchen cabinet doors, and mounted to the wall in my bathroom next to my sink for small hygiene products like deodorant, cologne, and sun screen.
Under-mount Paper Towel Holder: I have mounted this self-adhesive paper towel holder underneath my kitchen cabinets and it works great. There is no room on your kitchen counter for a paper towel holder. Mount it.
Toilet Paper Holder: This self-adhesive toilet paper holder is mounted to the side of my bathroom cabinet. You don’t have space for a free-standing toilet paper holder.
Hanging Laundry Bag: I use the self-adhesive hooks above to hang these bags on my bedroom wall and store my dirty laundry. Living in Central Mexico, I get a lot of dust in my trailer. It’s convenient to throw the laundry bag in with the dirty clothes to wash.
Cord and Cable Organizer Clips: I use these self-adhesive organizer clips to organize my electric razors in the bathroom, and my computer/phone/tablet cables elsewhere.
SAFETY & SECURITY
eufy Security Products: I can’t say enough how much I like and appreciate the eufy security products. I can keep tabs on all of my security devices from a single app on my phone and receive alerts when someone is spotted on my property – day or night. I keep one SmartTrack card hidden in my truck, and another hidden in my travel trailer, so I can find them anywhere in the world. I use the SmartTrack Links on the dogs’ collars, so I can track them if they run off.

Bilingual Property Signs: These matching bilingual signs are great to post on your property – the exterior wall of your house or on your property fencing:
- “Warning Audio Video Surveillance On Duty At All Times”
- “Please Close and Latch Gate”
- “Private Property No Trespassing”
Master Lock Universal Trailer Hitch Lock: I always recommend tying things down and locking them up. I have always found Master Lock products to be secure and reliable. In this case, you don’t want someone connecting to your travel trailer and driving off while you’ve ventured out for dinner.
Camper X-Shaped Wheel Chock Stabilizer: I want to spend as little time preparing my travel trailer for its journey. These wheel locks are quick, easy, secure, and they’ve lasted a long time.
RVLOCK Compact RV Lock Keyless Entry: Keys, keys, and more keys. I like being able to lock and unlock my travel trailer without having to use a key. It’s one less key on my key ring.
Cordless Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor: This is a must-have to keep in your vehicle. It has kept me on the road on more than one occasion.
Spare Tire Carrier: This affordable spare tire carrier mounts conveniently onto the back bumper of my travel trailer.
Westinghouse 5000 Watt Inverter Generator: Sometimes, I travel off-grid. Sometimes, my grid goes dark. You need an inverter generator for your RV. Be sure to buy one that will support all of the appliances and electronics that you need and want to operate when you’re without a power source.
